Director of Talent Development

The Director of Talent Development will lead and scale a high-impact team focused on Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Experience at Techstars. This role is responsible for designing and executing innovative, people-first programs that drive engagement, inclusion, and business success. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on leader, with a passion for progressive HR practices, leadership development, and data-driven decision-making.

 

This position requires a deep understanding of talent acquisition, learning & development, and employee engagement strategies that align with Techstars’ mission. The Director of Talent Development will develop and implement tailored solutions to attract, retain, and develop top talent across a high-growth, global organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead the talent acquisition team, ensuring a seamless recruitment process that attracts top talent aligned with Techstars’ values and mission.
  • Oversee and enhance the onboarding experience, ensuring new hires integrate smoothly and feel engaged from day one.

Talent Development & Learning

  • Design and manage peer learning programs to foster knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement leadership development initiatives, training programs, and performance coaching strategies.
  • Establish and oversee Techstars' Leadership Forum, providing leaders with the insights, tools, and resources needed to enhance their impact.

Employee Experience & People Analytics

  • Develop and track People & Culture metrics, providing actionable insights to improve engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Design and implement employee engagement surveys, analyze results, and drive data-backed improvements.
  • Oversee performance and development cycles, ensuring a continuous feedback culture and clear career progression opportunities.

Lifecycle Processes & Functional Project Management

  • Own and enhance employee lifecycle processes, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve People & Culture policies, processes, and overall employee experience.
  • Manage the People & Culture Slack channel, fostering open communication, knowledge sharing, and transparency across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in Talent Development, Learning & Development, HR, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing talent development programs, employee engagement initiatives, and performance management strategies.
  • Experience managing and scaling high-impact teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using People & Culture metrics to drive decision-making in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with global teams and scaling people strategies across multiple regions.
  • Familiarity with progressive HR practices, leadership development, and inclusive hiring strategies.

 

Compensation: $135,000 - $145,000 with 10% bonus
