Sports Partnership Account Executive

Role’s Primary Mission:

The Sports Partnership Account Executive is responsible for achieving or exceeding the individual sales goals of WFAA/KMPX sports and partnerships with the Dallas Mavericks and other sports opportunities. This will include advertising solutions from linear TV and content sponsorships to digital and OTT with PREMION. The AE (Account Executives) acts as a lead generator by identifying and reaching clients in the market who will best take advantage of our solutions. The AE (Account Executives) then becomes a marketing consultant to the clients, helping them define and achieve their business objectives.

What You Will Do:

•  Attain or exceed budgets across the multiple sports assets.

•  Consistently prospect, present, and close new revenue opportunities using client and category insights related to Sports opportunities; specifically, the Dallas Mavericks, NBA, SEC Football, and other key WFAA sports partners.

•  Upsell current clients by engaging them in the complete product line of WFAAs offerings.

•  Create custom solutions-driven campaigns that meet client needs across multiple media platforms, including broadcast, digital, and Streaming (OTT—Over the Top).

•  Seek opportunities to expand relationships with key clients by actively understanding their business needs and competitive landscape.

•  Build compelling sales presentations and packages that utilize the full suite of WFAA assets.

•  Strategically utilize Matrix and station CRM to manage day-to-day activity, pipeline, and forecasts.

•  Establish strong relationships with internal team members by providing the account management team with clear and concise direction for successfully executing campaigns.

•  Utilize sales support resources to provide exceptional customer service and contract fulfillment.

•  Positively and professionally represent WFAA and KMPX to the community at including hosting and entertaining clients, including evenings and weekends.

What You Need:

  •   Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a fast-paced sports-centric media environment.

    •  Proven track record of successfully achieving or exceeding sales goals and developing new business opportunities as a seller.

    •  Established knowledge of marketing solutions, including broadcasting and digital advertising, and be a perpetual learner, eager to expand your knowledge continuously.

    •  Prior working experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM (Client Relationship Management) systems, and ability to leverage technology to project manage workload and achieve goals.

    •  Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to proactively communicate with clients, co-workers, and vendors, and to write/edit compelling proposals.

    •  Possess a creative mind to put together unique campaigns focused on solving client needs with ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    •  Proven effective problem solver with ability to quickly adapt to changing and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

    •  Strong business acumen with attention to detail and accuracy, as well as strong organization and time management skills.

    •  Self-motivation and a strong work ethic are essential attributes to be successful.
