We are seeking a Streaming Engineer to bolster our infrastructure team, which oversees the entire audio and video encoding supply chain, from content acquisition to delivery. This team provides round-the-clock support and monitoring for our video streams and other infrastructure-related tasks.
This is a full-time remote position.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative live streaming workflows.
- Develop support tools, scripts, and dashboards to enhance operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot encoding and segmentation issues to ensure seamless streaming.
- Maintain and support our live encoders and VOD transcoding farms.
- Document workflows and standard operation procedures for knowledge sharing.
- Provide guidance to external teams on live encoder/packaging workflows.
Skills and Qualifications
- S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of progressively complex related experience.
- Experience in a video OTT/broadcast environment.
- Basic understanding of DAI workflows in an OTT environment.
- Ability to work independently to solve problems in both the video and IT domains.
- Proficiency in video codecs and compression (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC).
- Familiarity with audio codecs and containers (AAC, PCM, AC-3, EAC-3, MPEG-1 Layer-II).
- Comfortable working with Mac, Linux, specifically on the command line.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams.
- Basic scripting experience (BASH, Python, Ruby).
- Comfortable troubleshooting with Transport Stream and Elementary Stream analyzers.
- Experience with video transport protocols such as RTMP, SRT, Zixi, HLS, MPEG-DASH.
- Experience supporting live-streaming delivery at scale.
- Experience working with AWS Elemental products considered a plus, but not required.
Pay Range
$100,000 - $115,000 USD
