TEGNA is currently seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst with extensive experience in HR analytics and data modeling to join us at our company headquarters. We offer a hybrid (onsite/remote) work environment at The Boro in Tysons, VA.

Under the direction of the Director, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Analyst will be responsible for administering and maintaining various compensation programs, including base pay, annual incentive and equity programs. Additionally, the Analyst will play a role in developing competitive compensation programs and improving processes to enhance our ability to attract, engage and retain key talent while ensuring alignment with our Total Rewards philosophy, best practices, business strategies, and financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers base pay, short-term (annual bonus), and long-term (equity) incentive plans and provides analytical expertise, guidance, and interpretation of compensation policies.
  • Partners closely with HR business partners to understand business needs when evaluating and pricing jobs using internal and external data before providing recommendations.
  • Administers the Equity Program to include determining equity award units, managing equity platform, crafting communications regarding new awards, taxation and general information, answering questions, preparing ad hoc reports, and managing relationships with vendors.
  • Manages salary survey subscriptions and participation and analyzes obtained results to assess company's market positioning.
  • Prepares compensation analysis, reporting, and/or training materials to inform and educate employees, managers, and HR team members on compensation-related topics, including trends, regulations, salary structures, and projects.
  • Supports the HR team by providing ad-hoc reports and insightful data analyses and modeling.
  • Maintains and continues to enhance the HR dashboard in Power BI.
  • Keeps abreast of the regulatory environment, best practices and trends through online research or participation in webinars, conferences, and external total rewards programs.
  • Actively seeks to improve process efficiencies in all compensation related tasks.
  • Partners with Benefits, Payroll, IT, HR Operations, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition (TA) Operations teams as needed for additional projects or tasks.
  • May lead or support other Compensation / Total Rewards projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 5-8 years of experience in Compensation and HR analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and HR technology reporting tools, such as UKG and Cognos Business Intelligence
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations affecting compensation programs (minimum wage laws, FLSA, SOX compliance, etc.).
  • Ability to identify potential issues and solve them proactively through innovative solutions and sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and priorities successfully
  • Commitment to high quality of work and excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to partner with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a flexible, often ambiguous environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI a plus
  • Experience with Fidelity PSW (Plan Sponsor Webstation) a plus #LI-MS1
