WBNS-TV, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Columbus, OH, has an immediate opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform complex tasks including preventative maintenance and repair of building, grounds, and related equipment. Duties will include, but not limited to, general building maintenance (HVAC systems, plumbing, minor electrical, drywall repair, painting, carpentry), clearing snow from parking lots and sidewalks and applying salt, assisting other trades as needed.
Position is full-time and on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Respond immediately to emergency building maintenance requests.
- Repair leaky faucets, toilets, dispensers, and snake-clogged plumbing when necessary.
- Wall cleaning, painting, drywall when necessary.
- Repair and replace doors and windows when necessary.
- Minimum electrical work, depending on experience.
- Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Five (5) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Follows through with all tasks, assignments, and job duties in a timely manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff and employees
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
