The Regional Marketing Director (RMD) is an integral part of the centralized marketing system. The RMD will oversee and implement comprehensive marketing strategies across multiple markets within the region. This role requires a seasoned marketing professional with strong leadership skills, experience in media or digital marketing, and an ability to drive results in a competitive industry. The RMD will work closely with the producers they oversee to promote key products and increase audience engagement that ultimately drive results.

- KARE – Minneapolis, MN
- KSDK – St. Louis, MO
- WTHR – Indianapolis, IN
- WHAS – Louisville, KY
- WOI/KCWI – Des Moines, IA
- WQAD – Quad Cities
- WZZM – Grand Rapids, MI
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Marketing strategies:
- Design and implement tailored marketing campaigns that align with markets they oversee.
- Understand market research to align strategies with audience preferences, competitive landscape, and emerging trends market by market.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of marketing producers.
- Set clear goals, objective and key results (OKRs) and performance benchmarks for the team, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Foster collaboration with general manager, news director, and digital director to drive results in multiple markets at once.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with content and editorial teams to align marketing initiatives with opportunities.
- Collaborate with digital marketing media teams to optimize the promotion of digital platforms, especially streaming.
- Work with the performance marketing team to drive sampling and results.
- Brand Management:
- Maintain a strong and consistent brand presence across the region, ensuring that all marketing efforts align with the brand.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, ensuring high-quality and impactful content.
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Ability to make data-driven decisions by partnering with the consumer insights team
- Track, measure, and report the performance of all marketing campaigns, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and tactics.
- Provide regular updates and insights to markets and management on regional marketing performance, opportunities, and challenges.
- Local Community Engagement:
- Pursue community efforts that drive audience and partner with community team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the media or digital industry.
- Proven success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies, including digital, print, broadcast, and social media.
- Ability to facilitate tough conversations and hold strong boundaries if work does not align with OKRs
- Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics tools to track and optimize campaign performance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the local media landscape, including advertising, sponsorship, and partnerships, is highly desirable.
This position is eligible for the Company's bonus plan(s).
Pay Range
$150,000 - $175,000 USD

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
