WCNC-TV, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Charlotte, NC, has an immediate opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee and provide preventative maintenance and repairs to WCNC owned facilities and grounds, as well as oversee janitorial and vending services.

Responsibilities:

• WCNC-TV is a 24/7 operation, so the job requires responding immediately to emergency building maintenance requests on short notice.
• Coordinate with vendors for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing to deal with repairs and installs.
• Coordinate with the janitorial vendor for cleaning and supplies.
• Coordinate with the vending company to supply facility breakrooms.
• Light handyman duties such as leaky faucets, toilets, dispensers and snake clogged plumbing when necessary.
• Spot painting and drywall repair when necessary.
• Minimum electrical work, depending on experience.
• Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
• The facilities maintenance technician will work with a team of broadcast and IT engineers and report directly to the Head of Technology.
• Position is full-time and on-site.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Three (3) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Follows through with all tasks, assignments and job duties in a timely manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff and employees
• Excellence interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
