The marketing team needs a highly motivated individual to traffic on-air inventory and maintain TEGNA digital campaigns. The position will be responsible for the marketing materials and copy maintenance for multiple stations in their region. This candidate must be highly detailed, meet high standards of accuracy, have outstanding organizational skills, and be able to problem-solve under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are critical to the success of this candidate. This is a hybrid position that reports directly to the Director of Marketing Operations.
This position can be based at any TEGNA station location, but preference will be made for the Dallas, TX location.
Responsibilities:
Broadcast Responsibilities:
- Execute the entry of traffic instructions for marketing asset copy with high accuracy while providing exceptional customer service to clients, agencies, and TEGNA stakeholders.
- Assist in confirming commercial copy from all delivery systems, FTP, and outside sources.
- Retrieve necessary information regarding traffic instructions and materials, view materials for quality control, and ensure material locations on the material server and in WideOrbit are up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensure commercial materials are received and downloaded by the daily log deadline guidelines.
- Work closely with the internal sales department, regional marketing director, marketing producers, external businesses, production houses, advertising agencies, and customers in a professional manner.
- Traffic external marketing assets for any external media campaigns.
- Process same-day playlist changes if necessary and ensure all documentation is accurate.
- Build and maintain relationships with the TEGNA Commercial Operations. teams and TEGNA Stream Center.
- Manage manual inventory log changes through TSC using the Pulse platform.
- Work with the Regional Marketing Director to determine and identify monthly priority marketing assets.
- Generate monthly priority marketing asset fill lists for TSC and the Regional Marketing Director.
- Work with the sales team and Regional Marketing Director to manage, integrate, and implement sales/promotion assets effectively.
- Coordinate with the TCO team to add or reduce marketing inventory across markets.
Digital Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the pre-sales and post-sales processes, tools, and resources for TEGNA’s digital product line.
- Provide internal and external customers with in-depth product knowledge and agile digital media strategies that meet customer and TEGNA business objectives.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of proposals to our stations and potential customers.
- Traffic TEGNA local marketing assets to TEGNA’s digital product line.
- Track and report on marketing staff usage of tools and resources.
- Review new orders for accuracy and approve/reject orders.
- Continuously receive feedback from the marketing team on processes and tools for improvement.
- Deliver feedback on process improvement to manager and director levels regularly.
- Perform additional duties as determined by the Director of Marketing Operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic or sales support in broadcast, cable, digital, or radio.
- Experience with client solutions, customer service, or account management from a broadcast and/or digital perspective.
- Experience supporting internal or external marketing teams with strategy/solution development.
- Ability to move between software platforms to complete tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to effectively solve problems with a sense of urgency.
- Creative and able to adapt quickly to change.
- The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and solid organization and time management.
- Proficient with computer software/applications, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- WideOrbit traffic system knowledge (required).
- Salesforce or other CRM system experience preferred.
Pay Range
$26.44 - $31.25 USD
