TEGNA Florida, home to NBC affiliate WTLV and ABC affiliate WJXX in Jacksonville, FL, as well as CBS affiliate WTSP in Tampa, FL, is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Local Sales Manager to lead and innovate our local sales efforts.
We are seeking a visionary Local Sales Manager to lead this transformation with a digital-first mindset. In this innovative role, you'll spearhead the evolution of sales strategies, train Account Executives, and develop cutting-edge cross-platform solutions to drive revenue. As a pivotal leader, you'll oversee a team of high-performing Account Executives in Jacksonville and Tampa, implementing a modern, data-driven sales approach that seamlessly integrates digital media with linear television advertising.
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales.
Responsibilities:
• Cultivate a high-performance culture by setting clear, quantifiable goals for Account Executives and providing constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
• Lead the digital transformation within the sales team, ensuring the adoption of innovative digital marketing trends and technologies.
• Formulate and implement cross-platform sales strategies that blend digital media, streaming services, and traditional television advertising.
• Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities through strategic partnerships and lead generation.
•Mentor and coach Account Executives, ensuring accountability while actively participating in client meetings to secure new business and strengthen existing relationships
• Expand digital and linear revenue by introducing innovative advertising solutions, including sponsorship opportunities.
• Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring high satisfaction and strong account retention through elite service.
• Monitor business performance metrics, providing timely reports and forecasts to ensure continuous revenue growth and accurate projections.
• Effectively leads the team by setting and communicating a clear vision, aligning with company goals to drive growth. Guides the team through change and embraces innovation as a catalyst for success.
• Ensure accountability and uphold a level of high performance standards, while focusing on consistently increasing Account Executive call volumes.
• Foster a culture of innovation and adaptability, leveraging change as a catalyst for growth and success.
Requirements:
• Minimum of five (5) years in sales leadership within digital media, streaming, and broadcast television.
• Proven track record of driving digital revenue growth and developing cross-platform sales strategies.
• Extensive knowledge of digital advertising, including programmatic buying, OTT/CTV, social media, audience targeting, and attribution models.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 30% (min. 14 weeks a year) between Jacksonville and Tampa, including overnight stays, as necessary.
• Ability to foster a collaborative environment, encouraging teamwork and cross-departmental partnerships with the Florida stations.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and leading high-performance sales teams in a dynamic media environment.
•Must have strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to enhance revenue growth.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams while driving revenue performance.
• Proficiency in sales and traffic management platforms such as Wide Orbit Media Sales, Wide Orbit Traffic, Matrix Monarch/Salesforce CRM, and understanding of a demand side platform.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, thriving in a fast-paced, results-driven setting.
