KING 5 is looking for an imaginative, innovative and client-focused Senior Producer to join our daytime talk show, New Day Northwest. New Day Producers work closely with the on-air talent, sales team, studio crew and digital team to create entertaining and engaging content across all KING 5 platforms.
New Day Northwest, hosted by Kelly Hanson, is Western Washington’s #1 morning talk show. From the Northwest’s trending topics to the hottest products, Western Washington turns to New Day Northwest for a daily dose of what makes living here so unique. It’s a lifestyle show that’s always fresh, local and unpredictable. It’s where celebrities, top chefs, entertainers, authors, local doctors and lifestyle experts come to share their passion through in-depth conversation and demonstration.
The Senior Producer oversees day-to-day operations of the show. While booking and producing segments, this role helps steer the overall direction of the show and manages the team. The ideal candidate can successfully merge content with commerce, helping New Day sponsors showcase their products and services. The Senior Producer must be open to learning new skills and innovating workflows. This position reports to the Senior Executive Producer.
Responsibilities:
· Manage direct reports: producers, editor and production specialist
· Create daily taping orders and manage the taping of the show from 8:30 am to 10:30 am
· Approve all graphics and scripts daily
· Run the daily editorial meeting
· Source, contact and book guests for the show
· Produce entertaining and informative segments, including sponsored segments
· Create show, segment and franchise graphics
· Work one-on-one with clients to successfully meet their business needs, guide them toward good content decisions and coach them in the best practices for TV
· Write digital content and edit clips for the web site and social media
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- Innovative, visual and creative approach to bringing ideas to life in a studio-based environment
- A college degree preferred with minimum three years’ experience on a locally-produced show; or at least five or more years’ experience in television or creative production
- Strong project coordination and management
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a detail-oriented team player
- Must be able to perform in high-stress, deadline driven environment
- Basic mobile photography and video editing skills
- Field-producing experience and video journalism skills a plus
- Experience working with sponsors, clients and/or sales
- Line producing and control room experience on a live or live-to-tape production preferred
Pay Range
$33.17 - $36.06 USD
