KFMB-TV, the CBS affiliate and TEGNA-owned station in San Diego, is seeking a streaming producer to expand and elevate our local streaming presence. We’re looking for an innovative, driven journalist who is passionate about creating live coverage, original storytelling, and dynamic local content specifically for digital audiences.
At KFMB, we believe the future of news is streaming—and our platforms are at the heart of our mission to engage, inform, and reflect San Diego’s diverse communities. This position will be responsible for producing a daily hour-long live program on our 24/7 streaming channel, CBS8+, as well as coordinating breaking news events on our livestream platform in the afternoon hours. You’ll also be working to optimize our YouTube content and help create and edit social content.

Responsibilities:
Produce daily (live) newscasts and special reports and contribute to original programming for CBS8+ streaming platforms.
Work closely with newsroom leadership, digital producers, and field crews to coordinate live and recorded content for CBS8+.
Work with Digital team managers to create the scheduling and programming of the CBS8+ streaming lineup, curating and publishing timely content from our newsroom and partner TEGNA stations
Monitor breaking news, weather, and live events, quickly responding with updated content and promotional assets that keep viewers informed and engaged.
Proactively plan and coordinate, working closely with news managers, producers, reporters, and photojournalists, additional daily streaming opportunities.
Repackage existing content and repurpose franchise segments or evergreen features into compelling multi-platform and streaming offerings.

Requirements:
A minimum of two years of experience in broadcast journalism as a producer or digital producer
A strong editorial sense with a keen understanding of what resonates with both local and digital audiences.
A minimum of two years of editing on non-linear programs is required.
Ability to pass a timed writing test.

Pay Range

$24 - $27 USD
