A Digital Sales Specialist at TEGNA plays a critical role in supporting our Account Executives by managing the post-sale fulfillment of digital advertising campaigns. This position ensures that digital campaigns are properly implemented, maintained, optimized, and reviewed — allowing Account Executives to focus on driving revenue and client relationships. The Digital Sales Specialist also contributes to client retention and business growth by delivering excellent customer service and operational support across multiple digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Post-Sale Campaign Management:
o Implement and manage online advertising campaigns, overseeing day-to-day execution, maintenance, reporting, and fulfillment.
• Client Support:
o Provide outstanding support to Account Executives to ensure clients receive top-tier service and see successful campaign outcomes.
• Revenue Growth:
o Assist in retaining current clients and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling digital products to drive incremental revenue.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Partner with Account Executives, Sales Managers, third-party vendors, TEGNA Local Ad Operations, and Premion (our OTT streaming platform) to deliver effective campaigns.
• Technical Expertise:
o Maintain deep knowledge of digital advertising platforms and technologies, including OTT, Local CTV, website/app advertising, and targeted display.
Requirements:
• Digital Marketing Experience:
o 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing sales support or digital ad operations.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Expert understanding of digital advertising principles, platforms, and performance tracking — including OTT, targeted display, and streaming services.
• Communication Skills:
o Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
• Organizational Skills:
o Excellent time management and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving:
o Proactive approach to identifying and resolving campaign-related issues.
• Software Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools such as Salesforce.
Additional Requirements:
• 1–2 years of online ad trafficking experience.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Self-starter who can manage projects independently.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred.
