TEGNA Commercial Operations (TCO) is searching for a highly motivated individual to lead TEGNA’s Continuity organization. This candidate will create and implement processes and strategies for a centralized copy team, including allocation of responsibilities and workflow optimization. This candidate must be extremely detailed, have outstanding organizational skills, and be able to problem-solve under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are critical to the success of this candidate. This position reports directly to the VP of Sales Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Create standardized processes and ongoing training plans with the necessary documentation for copy organization
• Responsible for hiring and training new personnel, as well as building and maintaining a talent pipeline
• Build and maintain relationships with the TEGNA Commercial Operations (TCO) inventory and programming teams, as well as the TEGNA Streaming Center (TSC)
• Ensure team compliance with standard operating procedures
• Coordinate communication between the TSC broadcast hub, TCO and local stations on corporate initiatives related to copy
• Collaborate with TCO Directors to define, implement, and maintain TEGNA naming standards for commercial materials
• Provide a central point of contact for troubleshooting issues and questions related to copy
• Assist in confirming commercial copy from all delivery systems, FTP, and outside sources
• Create a system of checks and balances to minimize errors and maximize revenue
• Develop a system for tracking copy errors
• Ensure the team has the technical resources needed to execute job duties.
• This position will have five direct reports.
• Be on-call and available as needed on nights and weekends for emergencies
• Create reports as requested by various departments within TEGNA
• Resource for technical questions (WideOrbit, logs, inventory management, programming)
• Resource for HR questions/concerns
• Active engagement in employee performance to ensure objectives are being met
• Write and conduct annual performance reviews
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a leadership role involving traffic, sales support, or engineering/master control in broadcast, cable, or radio
• Proven ability to effectively lead a team
• Ability to create presentations and communicate them to executive-level stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are a must
• Ability to effectively solve problems with a sense of urgency
• Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
• Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management
• Proficient with computer software/applications, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word PowerPoint, and Excel
• Expert level WideOrbit traffic system knowledge (required)

Pay Range
$90,000 - $100,000 USD

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. TEGNA offers two medical plan options for full and part-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, as well as access to dental and eye care coverage; fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance; disability and life insurance.
Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
