iOS Developer

Position Overview

TEGNA is seeking an iOS Developer to join our growing mobile engineering team. In this role, you will help build and enhance high-quality mobile applications used by millions of users across our media platforms. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to create scalable, reliable, and engaging mobile experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Build scalable features and ensure high performance across mobile platforms.
• Integrate and manage data communication through RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and backend teams in an Agile development environment.
• Maintain code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and best development practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows using GitHub.
• Monitor app performance, crash analytics, and continuously improve the user experience.
• Participate in architecture discussions and help address technical debt.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the team.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in iOS application development.
• Strong expertise in Swift and modern iOS frameworks such as SwiftUI.
• Experience working with REST APIs and backend integrations.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns and performance optimization.
• Experience using Git-based version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative Agile teams.
• Passion for building high-quality mobile applications and mentoring engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience building high-scale consumer mobile applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Experience with mobile performance monitoring and crash analytics tools.
• Knowledge of architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
