Job Summary
The Senior Director, Data, Analytics and Reporting will lead the critical function reporting into the CIO. Collaborating closely with executive leaders across the organization, including Finance, Operations, Product and Engineering, Business Applications, AI Engineering and Security teams ensuring our data assets are leveraged to their full potential. This role requires a leader who can build and mentor a world-class team while personally driving strategic initiatives and ensuring the integrity of our data foundation. A core part of your responsibility will be to champion and enable our AI strategy and technical foundations, ensuring that clean, trusted, and well-governed data is the foundation for all AI initiatives. You will also be a champion for the data user, focused on building a self-service data platform that empowers all Tekion employees to make data-driven decisions with confidence.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and Inspire a World-Class Team: Recruit, mentor, and grow a diverse organization of data analysts, data engineers, and BI professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, continuous learning, and collaboration, empowering your team to drive impact at scale.
- Define, Execute, and Evolve Data & AI Strategy: Architect and implement a scalable data and AI vision that aligns with business goals and product direction. Establish and continuously refine the data architecture, tools, and processes necessary to provide high-quality, trusted data at enterprise scale.
- Enable Enterprise AI: Serve as a thought leader and strategic partner to Business Applications and AI Engineering, ensuring that data infrastructure, governance, and management practices are designed to accelerate AI/ML development and deployment. Oversee the creation of robust governance standards, high-quality and ethically sourced training datasets, and resilient data pipelines that fuel both operational and cutting-edge AI/ML solutions.
- Drive Organization-Wide Data-Driven Decision-Making: Partner closely with executive leadership across Finance, Operations, Product, and Engineering to deliver actionable insights, optimize business performance, and unlock new growth opportunities through best-in-class analytics, predictive modeling, and reporting.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle for critical business data domains—covering ingestion, transformation, modeling, quality management, and governance. Ensure the enterprise operates from a single source of truth for key measures and strategic analytics.
- Establish and Maintain Master Data Management: Develop and oversee standards governing data quality, matching and merging, survivorship, and organizational data hierarchies, enabling accurate, integrated master data for the business.
- Partner with Security and Legal organization to implement policies, controls, and technology that safeguard data privacy, assure regulatory compliance, and protect sensitive and proprietary business information. This includes robust access management, audit trails, and data lifecycle management.
- Champion and deliver a modern, self-service data platform with intuitive interfaces and dashboards, allowing business users to seamlessly discover, access, and leverage data for insights—ensuring that data is as accessible and understandable as it is available.
- Communicate efficiently across all levels of management to articulate vision and direction.
Qualifications and education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, AI/ML, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, analytics, and AI/ML leadership.
- Proven track record designing and executing enterprise data and AI strategies, with measurable business impact.
- Expertise with analytics methodologies, AI/ML frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch), BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and modern data platforms.
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills; able to translate complex data and AI concepts for executive and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing large-scale data/AI/analytics programs and budgets.
- Deep understanding of AI governance, security, ethics, compliance, and risk management.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on experience implementing AI/ML in business processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience leading enterprise-wide digital transformation or AI modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of AI/ML regulatory requirements and best practices for explainable and responsible AI

The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations. The actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to the compensation listed, this position may be eligible for equity compensation, and/or a bonus or commission whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual or company performance. Base Salary Range
$172,100 - $286,700 USD
