Summary:
We are looking for a Business Solutions Analyst I – Accounting to join our UK Professional Services team. In this role, you will draw on your hands-on motor retail accounting expertise to guide franchised and independent motor retailers through the implementation of Tekion, ensuring a smooth transition, high user adoption, and long-term customer success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee dealership user training and support across the full implementation lifecycle
- Manage concurrent implementations in varying phases, maintaining quality and momentum across all projects
- Cultivate strong relationships with dealership stakeholders – including Dealer Principals, Dealer Managers, Finance Directors, and Aftersales Managers – and actively manage expectations throughout
- Accurately assess implementation risk and adjust project plans with minimal impact to agreed go-live timelines
- Schedule and coordinate with internal and external teams, including distribution of critical project information and requirements
- Ensure completion of critical implementation milestone sign-offs from key dealership staff
- Ensure all projects are completed with end-user comprehension and satisfaction before handoff to the account management team
- Update project checklist items and implementation runbook to improve efficiency and quality for future implementations
- Apply expert knowledge of UK motor retail accounting practices – including manufacturer bonuses and incentive schemes, vehicle handling charges (VHC), finance house settlements, composite reporting, HMRC VAT treatment of vehicles and parts, and manufacturer warranty and parts recovery schemes – to guide dealer configuration and training
- Translate dealership accounting workflows into Tekion DMS configurations, working closely with Product and Support teams on any bespoke requirements
- Maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude during high-pressure go-live situations with both dealer partners and internal teams
- Stay current with Tekion product developments and UK automotive retail market changes
- Represent Tekion in a professional and consultative manner in all dealer interactions
- Work closely with the Implementation Manager to set and manage dealership expectations
- Foster collaborative relationships with all dealership personnel and stakeholders
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Motor Trade Accountant, Franchise Accountant, or Dealer Group Accountant within a franchised or independent UK motor retail environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK automotive accounting practices, including manufacturer financial reporting, VAT treatment on vehicles and parts, and FCA-regulated finance products
- Familiarity with composite reporting structures and multi-site dealership accounting
- 5+ years of relevant experience in dealership accounting, B2B SaaS implementations, or a combination of both – with at least 2 years in a customer-facing implementation, training, or support role
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels – from Finance Administrators to Finance Directors
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts and system configurations into practical, understandable guidance for adult learners
- Ability to take customer suggestions or insights and translate them into technical deliverables for Tekion Product & Support teams
- Willingness to travel across the UK to dealership sites (up to 50%)
- Understanding of HMRC compliance requirements and Data Protection Act/GDPR obligations
Preferred:
- Experience working for a Dealer Management System (DMS) provider in an implementation, training, or support capacity
- 3+ years in a Project Management or Project Lead role
- Experience working in a high-growth technology or SaaS environment
- Familiarity with multi-franchise or dealer group environments
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA qualification (part or fully qualified) is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of FCA Consumer Duty and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) obligations as they apply to motor retail finance
- Familiarity with dealer auction reconciliation and used vehicle accounting
- Proficiency with modern DMS platforms and an ability to quickly learn new systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliation and reporting tasks
- Project management tools experience (e.g. Salesforce, Jira, or similar)
- Understanding of FCA Consumer Duty obligations as they apply to motor retail finance
