What You’ll Do

In Tekmetric’s high-growth organization, the Senior Accountant (General Ledger Accountant) role will provide vital support in multi-entity accounting and reporting.  In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with the Accounting team and Leadership to perform complex accounting work through month and quarter-end close processes, assist in delivery of consolidated entity reporting, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.  This role will report to the Head of Accounting.

 You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SaaS accounting standards, particularly in a multi-entity environment, by applying proper accounting policies and principles.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s business operations and their impact on month-end accounting processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accruals and financial reporting.
  • Lead and support the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient financial reporting.
  • Reconcile complex accounts, including intercompany transactions and subsidiary ledgers, while maintaining a strong grasp of accrual accounting and its financial impact.
  • Manage multi-entity reporting, including consolidations and eliminations, ensuring accuracy across all entities.
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between financial statements and forecasts, providing flux analysis and insightful financial narratives that explain business trends and variances.
  • Support and drive process improvements to enhance financial operations, automation, and efficiency as the company scales.
  • Assist in evaluating, designing, and implementing process enhancements, ensuring financial and operational workflows evolve to meet the demands of a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Contribute to special projects, including M&A activity, financial research, decision support, and ad hoc strategic initiatives.
  • Support external audits by preparing and providing required documentation, reconciliations, and analysis.

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, CPA is preferred
  • 5-8 years progressive finance experience with advance understanding of GAAP and grasp of financial statements
  • Strong experience with multi-entity accounting, reporting and consolidations required
  • Relentless attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to new challenges.
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and defining the agenda
  • Proficiency in ERP software, preferably NetSuite, and Excel (i.e. LOOKUPs, Data tables, pivot tables, etc.) required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong preference for candidates in the Houston, Texas area

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in NetSuite, including modules like GL, AP, AR, and reporting tools
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting
  • Accrual accounting knowledge, especially for SaaS business models (e.g., prepaid expenses, deferred revenue)
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation templates)
  • Proclivity for system integrations and process optimization
