About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technology Lead with deep expertise in Rust programming to drive the design, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance systems.
In this leadership role, you’ll mentor engineers and help architect and scale the systems behind global remittances, digital wallets, and decentralized financial infrastructure—leveraging blockchain technology and modern backend architecture. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams around the world to deliver secure, high-performance solutions that support our expanding user base.

Telcoin is a rapidly growing fintech startup headquartered in Singapore. We leverage blockchain technology to deliver fast, secure, and low-cost financial products—including mobile-based remittances and digital asset solutions. Currently operating in 17+ countries, Telcoin is building a global platform that connects users with modern financial tools through a telecom-integrated approach.
Our team includes telecom executives, startup veterans, finance professionals, and world-class engineers. We are now looking for a Senior Technology Lead to help scale our backend infrastructure and core remittance systems.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end technical development of projects using Rust and related technologies

Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable systems and APIs for Telcoin’s remittance platform and digital wallet

Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions

Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and code reviews for team members

Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to improve development efficiency and system performance

Contribute to recruitment efforts, helping to attract and grow top Rust engineering talent

Build and optimize high-performance microservices capable of processing 20,000+ requests per second

Interface with blockchain components, mobile apps (iOS/Android), and third-party APIs (e.g., KYC, fraud, banking systems)

Support integration of external financial systems, including banks and payment partners

Implement secure solutions to manage KYC, PII, and financial transaction data
Qualifications
Required:
-
5+ years of software development experience, with 2–3+ years working extensively with Rust or another strongly typed systems language in production systems

Strong understanding of systems programming, concurrency, memory safety, and performance tuning

Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale data pipelines

Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects or teams

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Terraform, and modern DevOps practices

Demonstrated ability to write secure, high-performance, maintainable code

Comfortable operating in fast-paced, startup environments with global, distributed teams

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:

Experience in blockchain, cryptographic systems, or embedded development

Familiarity with event-driven systems, Kafka, or analytics pipelines

Background working with AML/KYC, compliance tools, or fraud prevention systems

Prior exposure to financial services, digital wallets, or remittance systems

Familiarity with WebAssembly, Actix, Tokio, or other Rust ecosystem tools
