Director, Operational Excellence & Strategic Programs
About The Role…
The Director of Operational Excellence & Strategic Programs acts as an enterprise integrator across leadership, strategy, execution, and communication. This role combines operational excellence leadership, transformation governance, SLT-level facilitation, and strategic advisory responsibilities. This individual will serve as a thought partner to the President and senior leadership team (SLT), ensuring organizational priorities are executed responsibly, transparently, and with the appropriate cross-functional buy-in.
They will lead the Transformation Management Office, oversee strategic portfolio execution, orchestrate executive forums and communication, and escalate risks and prioritization challenges with clarity and decisiveness.
What You’ll Do…
Transformation Management Office (TMO)
- Lead the enterprise transformation program for our platform modernization—ensuring vision, priorities, and program outcomes are clearly defined, translated, and executed
- Facilitate strategic decision-making with senior leaders; present tradeoffs, dependencies, and recommended paths forward
- Maintain and refine the Nova transformation master plan; ensure workstreams are aligned to measurable outcomes and execution guardrails
- Act as the “program of programs” owner—managing the coordination and interdependencies of product transformation, monetization, migration, GTM, and services readiness
- Drive workstream governance - Own the meeting cadence, governance routines, and recurring alignment touchpoints for executive transformation efforts
- Ensure clear accountability across each workstream, with transparent status, risks, mitigation plans, and decision logs
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams: product, engineering, delivery, commercial, legal, monetization, back office
- Maintain master roadmap, milestones, and exec-ready program summaries
- Conduct bi-weekly progress reporting and alignment cycles
- Serve as facilitator between stakeholders (internal + external) including platform partner organizations
- Operationalize strategic imperatives into actionable programs and delivery plans
- Build frameworks, tools, and templates that support repeatable program execution
- Review and coach initiative leaders; monitor performance of multiple enterprise initiatives
SLT Governance & Strategic Alignment
- Partner with the President to develop SLT agendas, pre-reads, and alignment frameworks
- Prepare SLT leaders for decision-making by synthesizing operational and strategic context
- Capture decisions, track action items, and ensure follow-through
- Help refine leadership decision-making frameworks, balance competing priorities, and mediate sequencing conflicts
Executive Advising & Relationship Orchestration
- Serve as a connective partner for key internal leaders in Product, Engineering, Services, Finance, and Commercial
- Advise executives on prioritization, tradeoffs, and sequencing
- Facilitate difficult conversations, remove ambiguity, and communicate implications of decisions
Organizational Communications & Change Enablement
- Support leadership communications including:
- Monthly Pulse / executive newsletters
- Manager’s meetings
- Town Halls / enterprise update cadences
- Ensure consistency of message between Marketing, SLT, and transformation programs
- Provide change management, readiness analysis, and stakeholder engagement models for transformational initiatives
Migration Program Ownership
- Lead the client migration program from legacy platforms to new offerings
- Manage cross-functional migration approach: technical, delivery, commercial, pricing, contracting, and readiness
- Run migration leader touchpoints and maintain risk/action registers
What We Look For…
- 10–15 years in transformation leadership, enterprise PMO/TMO, strategic ops, or org-wide execution
- Ability to synthesize complexity into direction for various audiences
- Strong background in Lean/Six Sigma, operational diagnostics, and structured problem solving
- Expert-level interpersonal influence skills
- Experience developing operating models and governance for large-scale change
- Proven ability to drive clarity through ambiguity and handle sensitive organizational politics
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field (preferred).
License or Certifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification preferred.
