Our robust profitability allows us not only to invest in pioneering technologies but also to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth for our team.

Our collective vision is a world where borderless connectivity fuels limitless innovation. By joining us, you can be part of laying the foundations for this interconnected future. We're currently seeking passionate individuals who are excited about the opportunity to contribute to an industry-shaping company while growing their own skills and careers.

The Role

Join Telnyx’s AEO team as a Developer Advocate, responsible for showing developers and technical buyers what becomes possible when connectivity, compute, and AI run on one network. You’ll build benchmarks, demos, and real-world use cases that put IoT SIM and eSIM, private networking, Edge Compute, and Telnyx Inference to work together at the edge. You’ll report to the Director of AEO and join the Developer Relations team’s standups three times a week, so your work stays closely aligned with DevRel while it feeds the content that wins search and AI answers. This role blends developer relations, solutions engineering, and hands-on hardware work, requiring someone who can take a product from a blank repo to a working device in the field, measure how it performs, and turn the result into a demo that makes the advantages of the Telnyx network obvious.

Responsibilities

  • Benchmarking: Design and run repeatable benchmarks for latency, throughput, reliability, and cost
  • across Telnyx Inference, Edge Compute, and connectivity, and publish methodology and results
  • developers can reproduce.
  • Field Demos on Real Devices: Build and operate working deployments on real hardware with
  • Telnyx IoT SIM and eSIM installed, such as cellular modems, gateways, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32,
  • and show them in action in the field, with some travel for field demos and events.
  • Edge AI Use Cases: Create reference demos that combine connectivity, private networking, Edge
  • Compute, and Telnyx Inference, showing what businesses can build when AI runs close to their
  • devices and users.
  • Compliance by Configuration: Build demos that show how teams can meet their compliance
  • requirements by configuring Telnyx exactly the way they need, including in-region inference, data
  • residency, zero data retention, and private connectivity.
  • Sample Apps & Open Source: Publish working sample apps, starter kits, and repos on GitHub,
  • and keep them tested against current APIs, SDKs, and firmware.Developer Advocacy: Present demos through videos, livestreams, workshops, meetups, and
  • conferences, and partner with Content to turn every build into tutorials and posts.
  • Developer Feedback Loop: Be the first user of new products and bring friction points from the
  • field, GitHub, Discord, Reddit, and X back to Product and Engineering.

What we are looking for

  • Experienced developer relations engineer, solutions engineer, or developer advocate who knew this
  • work before AI and could still do it without it, with a public portfolio of demos, sample apps, or talks
  • that developers actually use.
  • Ability to produce polished, high-production YouTube videos, with strong video editing and visual
  • design skills. Your portfolio should show work that matches the standard set by the best developer
  • and technology brands.
  • Exceptional writer and researcher who creates original, people-first content grounded in first-
  • hand experience and real expertise, the kind of content developers trust and search and AI engines
  • reward.
  • Hands-on developer comfortable writing, testing, and debugging C/C++ and Python for devices,
  • plus JavaScript/TypeScript or Go for cloud and edge apps, including with AI-assisted tools like
  • Claude Code or Codex.
  • Hands-on experience with cellular or IoT connectivity, such as SIM and eSIM provisioning, APNs,
  • or LTE-M/NB-IoT devices.
  • Proven experience designing and running benchmarks, with a rigorous, honest approach to
  • methodology.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including BGP, IPsec, VPCs, and cloud interconnects.
  • Working knowledge of LLM inference and AI application patterns, such as model serving,
  • streaming, and agent tool use.
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or
  • equivalent experience.
  • An operator mentality, someone who ships working demos quickly rather than endlessly planning.
  • Experience in a developer relations or solutions engineering role at an IoT, networking, telecom, or
  • cloud company.
  • Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, or MQTT (published projects
  • or repos are a plus).
  • Familiarity with data residency, privacy, and security requirements in regulated industries such as
  • healthcare, finance, or the public sector.
  • Experience presenting live demos at conferences, meetups, or on video.
  • Bonus: familiarity with SEO or how AI answer engines cite content.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment with high autonomy.

Why This Role Matters

  • You'll drive real growth. Unlike most DevRel roles, your work is measured by the organic and AI
  • search growth it drives for the business. You'll build in the real world. Real devices, real benchmarks, and real networks, out in the field,
  • not just slides and sample code.
  • You'll make a real impact. Your demos and content show developers what becomes possible
  • when connectivity, compute, and AI run on one network.

Why Telnyx?

  • A high-impact, high-growth opportunity at a global communications leader.
  • Hands-on access to the network, GPUs, and edge infrastructure Telnyx owns end to end.
  • Learning-focused culture with access to tools, training, and mentorship.
  • A collaborative, driven, and supportive team that celebrates wins together.
