Location and Flexibility
This is a hybrid role, which we’ve termed Work from Near (WFN). This model requires the ability to work on-site from our São Paulo - SP or Porto Alegre - RS office throughout the week based on team needs, while still providing the flexibility to work remotely on other days. Our WFN culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members local and visiting from other global offices.
The Opportunity
The Senior Accountant, General Ledger is an autonomous role with the opportunity to impact our teams through your attention to detail and meticulous execution. Using your knowledge of journal entries and chart of accounts, you’ll take ownership and leadership of our ledger. You’ll leverage your accounting expertise to drive change and improvement in the organization in order to cement our place as one of the top digital product consultancies in the world. This position will be based in Brazil and report to the regional Leadership.
Responsibilities
- Ownership and guidance of our general ledger, including fixed asset management (BR scope)
- Ownership of the revenue recognition process for the brazilian legal entity
- Ownership of the brazilian entity closing process, including STAT and IFRS differences
- Responsible for the corporate income tax review and journal entries. It will also be involved in the Tax Returns (ECF) review with the external consultants
- Ownership of the Intercompany accounting initially between BR and US, but possibly with other regions and entities later.
- Responsible to maintain transfer price calculation of the brazilian entity
- Backfill in activities related to AR, AP and Treasury of the brazilian entity
- Support the third party consultants related to STAT Accounting and also local brazilian taxes
- Collaboratively partner with fellow accounting partners to prepare journal entry allocations and subledger entries
- A key contributor to our annual audit preparation
- Perform and review monthly account reconciliations by investigating unreconciled balances or variances between our general ledger and source documents
- Consistently involved in raising ideas and solutions for process improvements and documentation practices
- Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal controls and requirements
- Maintaining accurate and updated documentation while providing recommendations for appropriate preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial results
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience
- Expertise with General Ledger accounting and maintenance, including deferred and accrued accounts
- Expertise/knowledge of general ledger software and Microsoft Excel
- Displays high levels of partnership in team environments
- Proven track record of collaborating with clients and/or cross-disciplinary stakeholders effectively
- Understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS, keeping up with trends, changes, and knowledge of accounting best practices
- Familiarity with financial audits or reviews
- Experience working with US accounting requirements and standards
- Fluent English

- Experience with the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Experience with cash flow analysis
- Experience with intercompany accounting
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or CPA
