Solana Networking Engineer

Temporal is a Solana native Research & Development firm. We have been at the bottom of the Solana trenches for years working on open source code alongside core teams, developing on chain products, and running some of the highest performing validators. Our team has deep experience in high frequency trading and low latency systems.
The Role
Temporal is hiring a Solana Networking Engineer to work in our NYC office with deep expertise in Rust and high-performance distributed systems. In this role, you’ll work on critical infrastructure supporting and focusing on systems-level optimizations, monitoring, and resilience at scale to accelerate Solana forward.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain validators, RPC servers, and networking infrastructure in Rust
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems for server health and network performance
- Collaborate with dev and infra teams to identify bottlenecks and increase system throughput
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, or infrastructure roles
- Proficient in Rust for high-performance applications
- Strong background in distributed systems design and benchmarking
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools and container orchestration
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, QUIC)
- Deep familiarity with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
- Super Bonus: HPC experience

Compensation: $200,000-$300,000+ a year, equity, and a discretionary bonus
