Summary
The Senior Developer Success Engineer will act as the frontline for our community.
What You'll Do
Be a keen learner:
- At Temporal's Dev Success Team, we are exposed to a wide range of tech stacks (e.g., Java, Go, Typescript) and durable execution patterns (e.g., Saga, batching, and durable timers), not to mention the innovative use cases from our customers. There are unlimited learning opportunities to help hone your craft.
Be a passionate problem solver:
- You'll love this role if you enjoy solving problems. From code debugging to responding to production issues, from reading stack traces to analyzing SDK metrics, endless intellectually stimulating mini-projects exist in our white-glove service to help our customers adopt our paradigm-shifting technology.
- Once you are fully ramped up, we expect you to have the obsession in figuring things out independently. Don't worry—we have very experienced mentors on the team to help you get there!
Be a great communicator:
- A Dev Success Engineer communicates with our users on regular basis, both in writing and verbally, to understand their needs and provide our solutions. This is part of our excellent DevX offered by Temporal as an extension to our platform.
- You are the voice of the customers to other Temporal teams. From escalating bugs to providing product feedbacks, your excellent communication skills will play a significant role in enabling cross-function and cross-team collaboration.
What You'll Bring
- You have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer/tech lead and are preferably fluent in one or more of the following languages: Go, Java, Typescript, or Python.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are obsessed with solving problems and figuring things out.
- You are a trusted partner/voice advising on complex design and implementations.
- You are passionate about and have a track record of helping other engineers.
- You have worked on distributed systems and backend development.
- You have some essential DevOps skills, such as comprehending observability metrics, troubleshooting network issues, and understanding modern container technologies, e.g. Kubernetes and Docker.
- The estimated pay range for this role is £100,000 - £115,000.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets. Employment offers carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, knowledge, expertise, skillset, market location, and job level assessed during the interview process.
