Principal Product Manager, Temporal Cloud
Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Product Manager to define and drive the evolution of Temporal Cloud’s core constructs—how they are designed, delivered, and experienced by customers. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the concepts and product offerings that form the backbone of Temporal Cloud. You will lead the strategy for how cloud resources are structured and managed, ensuring a seamless experience across APIs, Terraform integrations, and the control plane so that customers can be productive with Temporal cloud quickly and at any part of the customer journey. You will work closely with other PMs, including IAM and security, as well as multiple engineering teams, to drive alignment across R&D. Your influence will extend beyond core SDK capabilities to define how customers scale, secure, and manage resources in a way that aligns with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and define the architecture and hierarchy of Temporal Cloud, including namespaces and product offerings.
- Lead strategy for control plane capabilities, including APIs, Terraform integrations, and resource models.
- Partner closely with engineering, other PMs, and sales to align R&D efforts with business and customer needs.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure a cohesive cloud experience, spanning security, management, and billing models.
- Influence pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies in collaboration with GTM teams.
Who You Are
- Cloud Infrastructure Expert: You have hands-on experience in platforms like MongoDB, Snowflake, Confluent, or Databricks, rather than a pure SaaS background.
- Control Plane & Security Knowledge: You understand resource models, security implications, and management principles in cloud infrastructure.
- Strategic & Execution-Oriented: You thrive in defining high-level strategy while also diving into execution details.
- Influential Leader: You have experience working as an IC or leader, leveraging influence rather than authority to drive outcomes.
- Scalability Mindset: As we grow, you may manage other PMs, so previous management or mentorship experience is a plus.
Compensation
- The estimated pay range for this role is $275,000 - $325,000, depending on qualifications and location.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
