Business Development Operations & AI Automation Internship

United States - Remote Opportunity

About Us

Temporal is an open source programming model that can simplify code, make applications more reliable, and help developers focus on the important things like delivering features faster. We are on a mission to be the reliable foundation of every developer’s toolbox, and are building the team that will make that happen.

Our values guide us —they are present in how we show up, make decisions, and work together to make an impact. We’re curious, driven, collaborative, genuine and humble.

Temporal is growing and we are looking for those who share our values, challenge 'standard' thinking, and want to influence our future. If you have a passion for improving the developer experience, building world-class open-source software and communities, and want to be a part of our amazing team, we'd love to hear from you!

Overview

The BDR Intern will work embedded in Temporal's Business Development organization to improve team efficiency through data operations, AI automation, and hands-on prospecting experience. This role combines operational work (daily reporting, data cleanup, CRM hygiene) with strategic projects (building AI agents, process optimization) while gaining real selling experience alongside the BDR team.

This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA, where Temporal's BDR hub is located. You'll work directly with New Logo BDR, Growth BDRs, International BDRs, and managers.

  2. AI Agent Development & Automation • Build AI-powered tools to automate prospecting research (company intelligence, persona identification, use case mapping) • Create outreach automation agents (email sequence generation, call script assistance, follow-up recommendations) • Develop AI copilots for BDR workflows (account prioritization, signal-triggered alerts, meeting prep assistants) • Test and iterate on AI tools with BDR feedback • Document what works and what doesn't for future scaling
  3. Hands-On Prospecting & Calling • Shadow BDRs on prospecting calls and observe live demos • Conduct prospect research and build target account lists • Make outbound calls alongside BDRs (with coaching and feedback) • Run discovery conversations and book meetings for AEs • Practice Temporal's customer storytelling and Challenger Arc methodology • Contribute to team meeting and pipeline goals
  4. Process Documentation & Optimization • Map current BDR workflows and identify inefficiencies • Document best practices from top-performing BDRs • Build playbooks for common prospecting scenarios (AI use cases, technical objections, persona-based messaging) • Create onboarding materials for new BDR hires • Recommend process improvements based on hands-on experience
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work with New Logo, Growth, and International BDR teams on region-specific projects • Partner with Marketing on campaign follow-up and lead routing • Collaborate with RevOps on territory planning and capacity modeling • Support Sales Enablement with content creation and training materials

Deliverables

  1. Daily Reporting Dashboard • Automated daily activity and pipeline reports • Clean, audited CRM data with standardized attribution

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
