Summary
The Director of Reimbursement Strategy & Analytics will play a critical role in driving reimbursement strategy with a primary focus on improving Average Sales Prices (ASP) through in-depth analytics of claim data. This individual will leverage advanced analytics to forecast future reimbursement rates, oversee the structuring and accessibility of reimbursement data, and develop tools to enhance team productivity. Additionally, the role involves developing the team to become strategic business advisors, providing insights on KPI performance and identifying ASP improvement opportunities based on payor reimbursement trends. The successful candidate will lead a team and collaborate across various departments to ensure the seamless execution of reimbursement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop the team to become strategic business advisors, focused on providing actionable insights on KPI performance and identifying ASP improvement opportunities based on payor reimbursement trends.
- Lead and manage projects to optimize reimbursement and improve operational efficiencies, with a focus on ASP improvement.
- Utilize advanced analytics to forecast future reimbursement rates for commercialized products.
- Oversee the structuring and accessibility of reimbursement data, including insurance claims, to derive actionable insights.
- Develop tools and dashboards to improve department productivity and streamline processes.
- Present reimbursement KPIs to senior leadership on a monthly basis, with a focus on ASP improvement metrics.
- Identify opportunities and implement reimbursement strategies based on regulatory and payor policy changes to enhance ASP.
- Work with cross-functional leadership to manage and monitor payor contract performance, ensuring alignment with ASP improvement goals.
- Lead ad hoc requests and special projects as needed, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5-8+ years of post-graduate experience in healthcare revenue cycle analytics and/or healthcare consulting.
- Experience leading people and projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks across projects, third-party billing vendors, and internal teams.
- Experience working with disorganized data from various sources and translating raw data into practical insights and recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interface with various software tools to quickly perform analyses, provide data-driven answers, and make informed decisions. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are mandatory, while SQL and dashboard experience (e.g., Looker, Tableau) are desirable.
- Creative problem-solving skills, comfort with ambiguity, and confidence to ask key questions.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across departments (Market Access, Finance, Legal, Product, Medical Affairs, Lab Operations, etc.).

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.
Illinois Pay Range
$150,000 - $200,000 USD
