Your Role:

Are you a deeply experienced Security Sales Engineer with a passion for Identity and Cloud security? Do you thrive on translating complex technical capabilities into tangible business value? Tenable is looking for a proactive, results-oriented technical leader to own and drive the pre-sales process for our cutting- edge Identity Tenable is seeking an experienced Security Sales Engineer to own and drive the technical portions of a pre-sales cycle for our identity and cloud solution in your assigned region. You will be partnering with Enterprise Territory Managers and a strong team of peers to differentiate the Tenable solutions from our competitors, create lasting customers by positioning the unique business value they are looking for and most importantly, create raving fans of Tenable throughout your area of influence.
Your Opportunity:

  • Become an Identity, Cloud and Risk Management SME and advisor to some of the world’s largest organizations
  • Drive exposure management and remediation efforts – prioritizing issues, implementing mitigations, and designing strategic preventative controls
  • Meet with prospective clients to discover what their biggest security challenges and highest priority business drivers are regarding their cloud and identity deployments
  • Partner closely with the regional sales teams to drive Tenable. IE, Tenable.CS and Tenable One product awareness to their customers
  • Map the Tenable unique business value and differentiators to their challenges and business drivers
  • Assist the Sales team with the production and delivery of technical responses to RFP/RFI’s in a timely manner
  • Influence product directions, make a difference and be part of Tenable’s growth and leadership in the ever faster-moving world of network security

What You'll Need:

  • Experience in in identity security around Active Directory / Entra ID and CIEM2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or MS Azure
  • Understanding of Cloud Computing technologies and automation
  • Experience with CNAPP, CSPM, or CIEM solutions
  • Prior experience working in a security-related technical pre-sales role
  • Understanding how to craft a custom demo vs delivering a canned demo
  • Skill and confidence in leading discussions from a deep technical level to the executive level
  • A strong self-starter attitude and determination to win
  • Solid teamwork skills, teamwork is everything at Tenable
  • Solid Interpersonal “smarts”Willingness to travel where and when needed within your territory, typically around 25% on average
  • Experience in presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to translate technical features into value drivers and to architect solutions to solve customer problems and uncover business challenges
  • Strong relational and empathic capabilities
  • Combination of engineering skills, an analytic mindset and business savvy
  • Ability and willingness to undertake customer related travel on short notice

And Ideally:

  • Solid foundational knowledge of network security concepts
  • Experience with Enterprise class operating systems at the security admin level
  • Proficient and up to date with AWS security services and pros/cons to implementing each
  • Hands-on experience in MS Azure, Google Compute Cloud and 3rd party related cloud security tools
  • Docker and DevOps knowledge, API scripting, Python SDK
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., PCI, FISMA, SOX, NERC)BS in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of direct SE experience
  • CISSP, GIAC, CEH, CCSP, SSCP, CISSP, AWS, Azure Certification, Google Cloud Certification or other security-related certifications
