Your Role:
This role sits at the intersection of community building and customer engagement, owning the dedicated web property and supporting field events that bring security leaders together for regional meetups. You will be among the first to define how the cybersecurity industry engages with agentic AI in an open, collaborative way. This is a ground-floor opportunity on Tenable's Agentic AI Accelerator, a new division focused on establishing Tenable as the definitive voice in AI-augmented security. You will report to the Sr. Manager of Go-To-Market AI Acceleration and collaborate across product marketing, field marketing, customer marketing, and technical teams.
Your Opportunity:
- Own and grow a dedicated web property — driving user acquisition, engagement, and community health
- Build and nurture an active community of CISOs and security practitioners around AI agents
- Develop community programs that encourage contribution, peer review, and knowledge sharing
- Support planning and execution of field events — CISO and practitioner regional meetups focused on AI in security
- Create engagement campaigns that drive awareness and adoption of the dedicated web property
- Monitor community health metrics and report on growth, engagement, and sentiment
- Ship content updates, features and user experience improvements for the dedicated web property
- Gather community feedback to inform product direction and content strategy
What You'll Need:
- 8+ years in community management, developer relations, or customer engagement in B2B technology
- Experience building or scaling an online community or platform from early stage
- Comfortable using developer tools — specifically Claude Code, GitHub workflows, and CI/CD pipelines — to manage and update a web property directly
- Understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and CISO/practitioner personas
- Event coordination experience — comfortable supporting logistics and programming for regional meetups
- Strong written communication — able to engage technical audiences authentically
- Data-driven mindset — comfortable tracking community metrics and deriving actionable insights
- Self-starter mentality — this is a new function and you will be building the playbook
- Able to work in a hybrid/on-site capacity at our headquarters in Columbia MD or Boston MA
- May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time
And Ideally:
- Experience in cybersecurity
- Familiarity with open-source communities and contribution models
- Background in developer advocacy or technical community management
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly agentic AI and LLMs
- Experience with community platforms (Discourse, GitHub, Discord, or similar)
- Experience managing content via pull requests and markdown-based publishing workflows
