Job Description:
A Senior Associate within Teneo Risk Advisory is a core team member, leveraging project management and consulting experience in supporting and developing critical client deliverables. As a Senior Associate, you are responsible for working with the Risk Advisory team to create internal division management deliverables, project plans, project tracking mechanisms, and other critical client-facing deliverables as part of our risk intelligence and resilience advisory mandates. The Senior Associate will also have an opportunity to work on client teams to deliver client work, with a particular focus on supporting Strategic Intelligence and Crisis-focused workstreams and engagements. This will include digital and threat intelligence monitoring and analysis, in-depth open-source and investigative research, reputational risk analysis, and domestic and global security and geopolitical research and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist with client engagements and workstreams related to Strategic Intelligence & Crisis Situations, particularly open-source and public records research of security, operational, and reputational threats and emerging risks to Teneo clients.
- Produce and support the development of high-quality written analysis for a range of products.
- Support fast-paced risk intelligence requirements with timely review of sources to produce intelligence reports quickly and accurately.
- Monitor and analyze emerging threats, working with project leads to understand how risks may impact clients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Deliver tailored client solutions with minimal oversight, demonstrating initiative and the ability to operate as a self-starter with minimal direction.
- Conduct in-depth investigative research across open-source, proprietary, and client-specific sources, synthesizing insights into actionable intelligence.
- Manage multiple client deliverables simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, ensuring timely and accurate outputs under pressure.
- Quickly adapt research and analysis to evolving client priorities, often shifting focus in response to emerging risks or crises.
- Demonstrate agility in working across diverse client industries and geographies, tailoring deliverables to unique client contexts and needs.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members to anticipate client requirements and proactively contribute insights that inform strategic decision-making.
- Operate effectively in high-stakes situations, maintaining professionalism and composure while delivering clear, actionable recommendations to clients.
Qualifications
- 4 to 6 years of experience as a consultant or intelligence/risk professional, with demonstrated involvement in client-facing strategic advisory and risk management work on critical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier college or university. Master’s degree in international affairs is preferred.
- Prior experience with a management or risk management consulting firm is highly desirable.
- Experience with open-source and public record research; intelligence and social media analysis tools (including deep and dark web platforms); and advanced internet-based research using Boolean logic.
- Strong understanding of international and domestic threat actors, and the broader geopolitical threat landscape is preferred.
- Proven client-facing experience delivering strategic insights and actionable recommendations under pressure, with the ability to quickly build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, concise, and impactful insights for executive-level audiences.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality across all client deliverables in high-stakes, time-sensitive environments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, driving solutions through to resolution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with intellectual rigor, sound judgment, and an innovative approach to client challenges.

Base Salary Range
$115,000 - $130,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).
Total Compensation Package
Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and perks.
Flexible Work Policy
Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York office, the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
