The Role
Our MeTRA Platform is a complex React/Redux application delivering desktop level performance in the browser. MeTRA is undergoing continual Agile development and is being extended with innovative visualizations, generative artificial intelligence, and advanced property-graph algorithmic analyses. As a Principal Application Engineer at Tenet3, you will balance hands-on development of our MeTRA Knowledge Modeling Platform with technical leadership, ensuring our Platform is robust, adaptive, and aligned with evolving mission needs. You'll drive innovation, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver a secure, scalable, and high-performing application.
Essential Job Duties
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of Tenet3’s MeTRA® application.
- Mentor and guide the engineering team in coding standards, performance optimization, and system design best practices.
- Tackle the most difficult software development challenges illustrating leadership through your coding expertise.
Collaborate Across Disciplines
- Partner with other Senior Team Leads and Subject Matter Experts across Tenet3 to create innovative solutions around the MeTRA Platform.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for your team and other company departments.
Deliver with Quality
- Maintain and ensure high standards in code quality, security, and performance, upholding excellence throughout the process.
- Take initiative to overcome technical and strategic challenges, ensuring timely delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
Full Stack Development
- 10+ years of experience with
- JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++ and Python web application frameworks.
- SQL, NoSQL Databases, and indexing strategies.
- Scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-scale distributed systems.
Technical Understanding
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in React/Redux, graphics engines, and WebAssembly.
- Advanced knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
- Experience in JavaScript application security testing.
Security Clearance
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
Education
A Master of Science degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science is preferred. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required.
