About the Role

You’ll be the first full-time finance hire at Tensor Labs. That means you have the opportunity to define how we do finance at a rapidly growing web3 company. You will be responsible for implementing controls, creating efficient processes, standardizing accounting, and building a world-class finance function.

You will:

• Be responsible for all accounting functions and financial reporting
• Own month end close process, ensuring it’s timely, efficient, and accurate (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Own the forecast/financial model 
• Improve and implement internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting to ensure financial integrity 
• Provide insights and analysis to leadership team on financial performance and health of the business
• Manage external bookkeeper and accounting firm(s)
• Manage and coordinate the preparation of tax filings
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP)

You are:

• 5+ years of overall accounting experience in a senior position
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant Controller
• CA and/or CPA designation and Bachelors Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration
• Exceptionally strong attention to detail and highly analytical

Bonus points for:

• Experience with crypto accounting
• Excited about web3/crypto
• Familiarity with Integral and Quickbooks Online
• CFA or MBA designations
• Tax experience 

Location:

• Based in Toronto. This is a hard requirement
• We work IRL most days of the week

Compensation:

• Base Salary of $140,000-$160,000 CAD + $10k for being in office + tokens/equity
