
Sr. Rust Developer, Platform Software

The systems tooling team is responsible for the base level tooling that all customers and developers use. This role involves the upkeep of current Rust libraries like Luwen, which are used for low-level hardware interaction. It also includes the possibility and eventual transition of some current and future tooling to Rust libraries. This will also involve creating and maintaining appropriate ci/cd infrastructure relating, and helping to deal with and maintain appropriate packaging in various forms. Interacting with the Linux kernel, and experience coding on/in the kernel considered a plus. The position is expected to focus on the low level of general purposes operating systems as opposed to embedded rust development.
This role is hybrid OR remote, based out of Portland, OR, Toronto, ON, Austin, TX, Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, expanding, and improving existing rust code and libraries to better interact not only with the hardware itself but with the Linux Kernel and other systems relating to Tenstorrent hardware.
- Creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines in Github
- Automation of release pipelines relating to existing and future projects
- Working with developers to develop more extensive integrations and testing in the CI/CD pipeline
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering with more than 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to understand multiple different programming languages and their respective build systems, including Rust, C, C++, Python
- Specific interest in extensive Rust knowledge as well as low level hardware interactions and potentially system drivers.
- Familiarity with existing ci/cd pipeline frameworks
- Experience in scripting and test automation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross functionally and with multiple teams and systems
- Familiarity with Github ci/cd workflows and automation systems
- Systems level knowledge on Linux, and specific interest in low level systems knowledge pertaining to Ubuntu, Fedora, Enterprise Linux, SuSE, etc Linux distributions.
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
