
Sr. Engineer, OSPO - Tooling, Platform Software

The Open Source Programs Office is looking to expand into the first full time person dedicated to chasing down and helping others with license compliance, both new and existing. Tooling around any automation that can help with compliance, including helping upstream contributions to expand existing tooling. Familiarity with Git, GitHub and GitHub administration to help maintain presence and tooling on Github a significant boon.
This role is hybrid OR remote, based out of Portland, OR, Toronto, ON, Austin, TX, Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities:
- Assist broader OSPO in helping with license compliance of new, and existing, open source projects
- Ability to help write and maintain various policies relating to Open Source
- Familiarity with, and comfortable with automating and scripting against existing systems and APIs, as well as developing new automation where appropriate
- Comfortable with reviewing things with the legal team on a somewhat regular basis
- Ensuring SPDX compliance, and related licensing tracking, up to and through distro level packaging, language specific packaging,
- Helping guide teams and projects through open source review and release.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Science related degree and/or with more than 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to understand multiple different programming languages and their respective build systems, including Rust, C, C++, Python
- Specific interest in AI and low level hardware interactions of computer systems.
- Familiarity with existing ci/cd pipeline frameworks
- Experience in scripting and test automation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross functionally and with multiple teams and systems
- Familiarity with Open Source licenses, as well as community and typical interactions
- Git, GitHub, and GitHub Administration
- Background in various Linux distributions and their low level systems, including Ubuntu, Fedora, Enterprise Linux, and SuSE
- Podman, Docker, and containerization on Linux
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
