Event DevRel Lead
Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.
We’re looking for a Event DevRel Lead to join our team at the edge of culture, compute, and community. Reporting to the Director of Developer Experience, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and executing strategies to engage individual developers pushing the edge of what’s possible with AI hardware today.
This role is about proximity, not just showing up, but embedding in existing spaces and creating new ones – think The Happenings (Kaprow), but make it AI. We like events that blur the lines, let participants co-create, and invite the unexpected.
You’ll spearhead and execute on strategies to engage with developers IRL not limited to events, engagements, and activations. You’ll attend key conferences, events, and hackathons, embedding Tenstorrent into the conversation. You’ll build relationships and channel feedback into both product and marketing. You’ll be a fellow builder, fluent in the scene.
This role is remote, with a preference for a base in Santa Clara, CA.
We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.
You already:
- Engage with open source projects
- Follow obscure and well-known AI devs across Twitter, GitHub, Youtube, Reddit, and Discord
- Attend the bleeding-edge conferences before they get corporate
- Tinker with AI systems and push your own rigs to their limits
You will:
- Craft strategy to identify and connect with high-leverage developers across startups, enterprises, and indie projects
- Embed at major and niche developer events, conferences, hackathons, and meetups
- Engage 1:1 with developers across online platforms such as Twitter, GitHub, Reddit, Discord, etc.
- Initiate and nurture VIP dev relationships that scale trust, not just reach
- Surface insights and dev feedback across marketing and product teams
- Drive original dev-focused events, dinners, and field activations
- Amplify developer wins and breakthroughs across channels
- Advocate thoughtfully for our tech. High signal, low hype.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML tooling and compute (esp. Pytorch, tensorflow, jax, etc.)
- Passion about AI and compute
- Fluency with open source development practices and tools (e.g., Git, GitHub)
- Real dev chops, not a god, but enough to hack your own and speak the language
- Previous experience building community via physical space or gatherings
