Sr. Engineer, SLT - Silicon
Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.
Join the team ensuring Tenstorrent’s silicon lives up to its world-class performance targets. As a Senior SLT Engineer, you will own post-silicon validation and debug workflows, partnering across design, DFT, and system teams to uncover issues and push the limits of reliability and test coverage on high-performance AI chips.
This role is hybrid based out of Toronto, ON; Santa Clara, CA; Austin, TX; or Fort Collins, CO.
We welcome candidates at various experience levels. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.
Who You Are
- Experienced in silicon bring-up, debug, or system-level hardware validation.
- Familiar with chip design, DFT, or system architecture, especially around high-speed interfaces like SerDes and memory subsystems.
- A methodical, hands-on problem solver who thrives on turning innovative designs into working systems.
- Comfortable working across hardware, software, and system engineering domains.
What We Need
- Engineers who can define and execute System-Level Test (SLT) strategies for complex, high-power AI chips.
- Experience validating silicon across SerDes IOs, memory interfaces, and compute cores.
- Familiarity with JTAG, DFT, and industry-standard post-silicon debug flows and tools.
- Strong scripting or programming skills to automate test coverage and streamline debug workflows.
What You Will Learn
- How to feed SLT and debug insights directly into the next generation of AI chip designs.
- Advanced validation techniques for verifying power, performance, and reliability in real silicon.
- What it takes to build robust test environments that support lab-to-field coverage.
- How to operate in a fast-paced startup pushing the boundaries of AI compute.
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
