Data Science Intern

As part of the Data Science and Engineering team, you will help grow the reach and scope of Tenstorrent's data engineering and data science workflows, including batch processing, streaming, metadata management, and machine learning. The ideal candidate for this role excels at building end-to-end data processing automations running on a modern and scalable hybrid-cloud data infrastructure. You have experience with writing Python data processing code and working with SQL databases. You are excited to learn how to work with a lean and modern data stack to build data pipelines and insights, supported by experienced data engineers and data scientists.
This role is on-site, based out of Toronto, Canada; Austin, Texas or Santa Clara, California.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines to process batch data at small to medium scale, employing cutting-edge data processing and orchestration methodologies, including distributed computing solutions when applicable.
- Support collaboration with data producers and data consumers to identify product requirements and structure effective implementation of solutions.
- Contribute to IaC for the data platform.
- Support data consumers with insight generation using our curated datasets and dashboarding tools.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Excellent Python programming skills, with a focus on data processing.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience designing data models and working with SQL databases.
- Experience working with time-series data.
- Experience with dashboarding and visualization tools, such as Apache Superset, Grafana, etc.
- Comfortable using Agile development methodologies and industry standard software development lifecycle processes (Git, Github, Jira).
- Experience with Apache Airflow nice to have.
- Familiarity with IaC technologies (such as Terraform) nice to have.
