RISC-V Compiler Intern

As a CPU Compiler Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers in a team responsible for developing and maintaining RISC-V system software. You will be involved in developing/enhancing our RISC-V toolchain for our CPUs, Systems-on-Chip, and AI accelerators. Your work will directly influence the team's ability to support the next generation of CPU ISA features, accelerator architectures, and systems being developed at Tenstorrent.
This role is on-site, based out of Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of open source RISC-V toolchain and internal tooling
- Collaborate with software and architecture teams on performance analysis and compiler optimizations
- Implement new compiler features for high performance vector-enabled RISC-V implementation
- Update toolchain Continuous Integrations flows
- Present results and findings to the team and management
Experience & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a M.S or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Computer Architecture (latter with relevant coursework or experience, also late stage Bachelor's students with experience matching the list below are welcome to apply)
- Experience with C++ as well as scripting languages (Python)
- Compiler experience (include coursework) is preferred
- Experience with functional (instruction-set) simulators and/or CPU performance modeling is a plus
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Compensation for all interns at Tenstorrent ranges from $50/hr - $70/hr including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
