
PCB Hardware Engineer Intern - PEY

Tenstorrent is looking for engineering interns to join our dynamic team. We know junior engineers want to explore different areas and expand their skill sets. The ideal candidates will have a wealth of exposure designing PCBs either through school or side project enthusiasm. A background in electrical engineering, power, or relevant field is required as you will be exposed to a multitude of designs, lifecycle stages and debug efforts.

Within the PCB team, we have three intern openings: Power Electronics, High-Speed Design, and Digital Electronics
What We Need
- An excited student who is passionate about designing circuits and PCBs, whether for school, hobbies, or student teams.
- Comfortable with schematic and layout in ECAD tools (like Altium, OrCAD/Allegro, or KiCad) and excited to learn more.
- Someone prepared to tackle PCB bring-up in the lab using oscilloscopes, VNAs, TDRs, and others, and building prototypes to fix issues on the fly
Who You Are
Power Electronics Intern:
- Relevant courses in electrical energy systems, power semiconductor devices, control, power electronics and circuits theory
- Experience with lab instrumentation, oscilloscopes, multimeters, DC power supplies
- Developing automated test scripts using Python, Mathcad, Matlab, Schematic capture and layout
High Speed Design Intern:
- Students who have excelled in courses on high-speed or RF/microwave circuits.
- Someone ready to support simulation of high-speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, and GDDR using industry-grade tools like HFSS and ADS.
- Learn how to design and tune microwave-speed interconnect, analyze those channels in the frequency and time domain, and then measure them in the lab.
Digital Electronics Intern
- Students who have excelled in courses on Digital Circuit design and board layout.
- Ownership of full board design from specifications to board bring-up.
- Support board and chip bring-up using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, soldering stations, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.
- Develop board level testing scripts to automate bring up procedures to optimize flow using Python and bash.
- Facilitate cross functional collaboration with mechanical, power, high speed design, test, and firmware teams.

- The full PCB lifecycle: design, simulate, build, test, debug, repeat.
- Collaborate with design teams and vendors on material, stackups, and specs.
- How a world-class PCB gets built, and what happens when it doesn’t work out.
