AI SW Intern, Cloud, Infrastructure & Data Centre Deployment

Austin, Texas, United States; Santa Clara, California, United States

Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

Overview: This team keeps Tenstorrent's AI systems running in production at scale — bringing compute clusters online, building the pipelines that ship our software, and getting models serving reliably on our hardware.

What you might work on: This posting spans multiple teams within Software: Cloud computing, Infrastructure/DevOps & Data Centre (DC) Deployment. One application, one recruiter screen — then we match you to the specific team (below) and location that fits best.

  • Cloud and data infrastructure: Develop  the ML & cloud infrastructure that gets AI workloads running on hardware at scale.
  • DC Deployment: Automate cluster setup and health checks using Ansible/AWX, and troubleshoot server, Linux, and network issues.
  • Infrastructure: Build CI/CD pipelines, containerized test environments, Kubernetes deployments and release automation for multi-host execution.

This role is on-site, based out of Austin or Santa Clara.

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Interested in understanding how servers, networks, operating systems, and distributed systems come together in large-scale environments.
  • Excited about building custom tools, programs, and new infrastructure solutions, rather than relying only on off-the-shelf systems.

What We Need

  • Comfortable working with Linux and interested in infrastructure, networking, automation, and distributed systems.
  • Able to write useful applications, services, automation or tooling in Python, Bash, or another programming language.
  • Familiar with infrastructure automation concepts and tools such as Ansible, or interested in developing deeper experience with them.
  • Have a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software deployment workflows.

What You Will Learn

  • How a new data center becomes a production-ready AI compute environment.
  • How infrastructure automation is designed, tested, and operated across large fleets of physical systems.
  • How continuous integration uses real accelerator hardware to validate changes across platforms and configurations.
  • How containers, build artifacts, packages, releases, and installation workflows turn source code into usable software.
