JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory operations within a Missouri cannabis facility, including both METRC‑regulated and non‑METRC environments. This role ensures accurate tracking, compliance, forecasting, ordering, and product movement across the supply chain. The Inventory Manager will lead a small inventory team, implement best practices, and maintain full visibility into product lifecycle—supporting efficient operations, regulatory adherence, and optimized sell‑through rates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all inventory activities across METRC and non‑METRC systems, including intakes, adjustments, reconciliations, and waste logs.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Missouri cannabis regulations and internal SOPs.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical inventory records, performing regular cycle counts, and full audits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve METRC data discrepancies promptly.
- Supervise a small team of inventory associates, providing daily direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Assign workloads, oversee task completion, and support team development.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and compliance.
- Oversee product movement between manufacturing and distribution.
- Track inventory levels in real time to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain flow.
- Analyze historical and current data to forecast product demand.
- Calculate and improve sell‑through rates to guide purchasing and production decisions.
- Manage reorder points, restocking cycles, and product allocations.
- Monitor key metrics, including FIFO rotation, inventory aging, shrinkage, and variance trends.
- Provide weekly and monthly inventory reports to leadership.
- Interpret sales and inventory data to recommend actionable improvements.
- Implement and refine SOPs for inventory handling, distribution, and compliance workflows.
- Optimize storage systems, labeling, and product organization.
- Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and reduce waste.
QUALIFICATIONS
2–4 years of inventory management experience; cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
Inventory or supply chain certifications (CPIA, CPIM, etc.) are a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Experience working in both METRC and parallel non‑METRC environments (e.g., ERP systems, POS, internal databases).
Solid understanding of supply chain principles including FIFO, forecasting, purchasing cycles, and distribution workflows.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights.
Communication & Leadership:
Strong leadership abilities and experience managing or training small teams.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and compliance mindset.
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs as needed and work in warehouse-style environments.
Strategic Execution: Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and strategies to improve communication, workflow, and efficiency while reducing errors and compliance risk.
Workload Management: Must be able to manage and prioritize a busy, dynamic workload appropriately and demonstrate continued flexibility.
