Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Production Planning to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing Operations, the Sr. Manager of Production Planning will lead the development and management of production schedules across our satellite and technology programs. In this role, you will guide all aspects of the production planning process to ensure timely, efficient product delivery. You will oversee production workflows, prioritize operations for maximum performance, and support manpower, equipment, and material planning to meet production demand. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain project execution and deliver performance reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated production and material planning strategies aligned with company objectives, program milestones, and contractual commitments.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of production planners, promoting accountability, collaboration, and a strong team culture.
- Own end-to-end material planning, including long‑lead procurement strategy, Make vs. Buy support, risk mitigation, safety stock recommendations, and demand/supply balancing.
- Drive on-time delivery performance for internal and external customers.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and program management to ensure resource alignment, schedule execution, and delivery success.
- Manage the integrated master schedule for complex satellite systems, ensuring alignment across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and integration/test functions.
- Lead material readiness reviews and ensure production kits are complete and available to meet build schedules.
- Establish and manage recovery plans for schedule delays or material shortages while protecting contractual delivery commitments.
- Support and enhance ERP/MRP systems to improve planning accuracy, data integrity, and inventory control.
- Participate in implementing structured SIOP processes to align backlog, forecasts, operational capacity, and supply constraints.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards to monitor planning and material performance, driving continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in production planning, program scheduling, or supply chain management within aerospace, defense, or complex engineered systems.
- Strong understanding of MRP logic, capacity planning, BOM structures, and configuration control.
- Proven ability to deliver complex systems on schedule in high‑mix, low‑volume, high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing integrated schedules across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Aerospace or defense program experience supporting government or prime contractor customers.
- Familiarity with AS9100 requirements and configuration‑controlled manufacturing systems.
- Relevant certifications such as PMI-SP, PMP, or CPIM.

Salary Range
$150,000 - $210,000 USD
