Digital Twin Product Manager

Bellevue, WA

TerraPower is a nuclear technology company based in Bellevue, Washington. At its core, the company is working to raise living standards globally through a more affordable, secure, and environmentally friendly form of nuclear energy along with innovations in medical isotopes to improve human health. In 2006, TerraPower originated with Bill Gates and a group of like-minded visionaries who evaluated the fundamental challenges to raising living standards around the world. They recognized energy access was crucial to the health and economic well-being of communities and decided that the private sector needed to take action and create energy sources that would advance global energy deployment. TerraPower’s mission is to be a world leader in new nuclear technologies, while developing innovators and future leaders in the nuclear field. As a result, the company’s activities in the fields of nuclear energy and related sciences are yielding significant innovations in the safety and economics of nuclear power, hybrid energy and medical applications – all for significant human health benefits.”

TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes.  TerraPower is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate in hiring on the basis of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religious creed, national origin, physical or mental disability, protected Veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

We’re building the digital backbone for the next generation of advanced nuclear systems — connecting design, construction, and operations data into a living, intelligent Digital Twin of the plant. As a Product Manager on the Digital Products & AI team, you’ll define and deliver the software that makes this possible. You’ll own critical products within our digital twin ecosystem — from design automation and construction simulation to AI-enabled operations insights. You’ll translate complex engineering and business problems into scalable digital solutions that accelerate reactor delivery, improve reliability, and enable continuous learning across the plant lifecycle.

This role sits at the intersection of nuclear engineering, AI, and digital transformation. Working closely with engineering, IT, and partner teams, you’ll turn data into actionable intelligence that shortens design cycles, de-risks delivery, and reduces cost for future reactors. Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Products and AI, you’ll be joining a small, high-impact team inside a company building one of the world’s most advanced clean-energy systems. We’re re-imagining how digital technology and AI accelerate the energy transition—combining the rigor of a regulated industry with the speed of modern software development.
Here, you’ll:

  • Work on first-of-a-kind products that directly enable the deployment of safer, more affordable nuclear power.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and operators who believe in technology as a force multiplier for clean energy.
  • Have the autonomy to shape product direction from concept to production.
  • See your work have real-world impact—measurable in megawatts, not page views.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the roadmap for one or more digital twin products spanning design, construction, and operations.
  • Translate program needs into clear product requirements and success metrics that tie back to cost, schedule, and risk reduction.
  • Partner with engineering and IT teams to deliver data-integrated, model-based tools that connect simulations, models, and field data.
  • Drive integration of external platforms (e.g., PLM/ERP/CMMS systems) into a cohesive digital environment.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to deploy predictive and physics-informed models inside the twin ecosystem.
  • Manage delivery from prototype to production, ensuring compliance with nuclear-grade software assurance standards (e.g., NQA-1, V&V).
  • Engage directly with users — reactor engineers, construction teams, and operators — to refine products that make their work faster, safer, and more informed.
  • Measure and communicate product impact through data-driven metrics tied to FOAK/NOAK cost-down and performance goals.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, systems engineering, or digital program delivery within industrial, energy, or aerospace sectors.
  • Experience building or deploying digital twin, digital thread, or simulation-based data platforms.
  • Understanding of model-based engineering, data integration, and software product delivery lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder ecosystems — engineering, IT, operations, vendors — to deliver end-to-end products.
  • Strong technical literacy and the ability to communicate with engineers, data scientists, and business leaders alike.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated, safety-critical industries such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, or energy—familiar with rigorous engineering, quality assurance, and compliance environments.
  • Proficiency with digital engineering and data platforms, including integration or customization of tools such as Palantir Foundry, Azure Digital Twins, Siemens Teamcenter, AVEVA, or Autodesk.
  • Familiarity with advanced simulation and AI technologies, including cloud-based HPC workflows, physics-informed machine learning (PIML), surrogate modeling, and real-time monitoring analytics.
  • Exposure to data-driven optimization and predictive systems, such as supply-chain simulation, scheduling optimization, asset health monitoring, demand forecasting, or anomaly detection.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
