Director, Supply Chain Strategy
The Director, Supply Chain Strategy will lead the development and execution of TerraPower’s global supply chain strategy to deliver the Natrium sodium-cooled fast reactor demonstration and future commercial SMR fleet. They will build a resilient, cost-effective, and nuclear-qualified supplier base that supports factory-built modular construction, meets ASME and nuclear quality standards, and enables rapid deployment. This role will report directly to the VP, Commercial Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the end-to-end sourcing strategy for long-lead nuclear components, structural modules, fuel cycle materials, and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers capable of meeting nuclear-grade requirements, including forging, fabrication, and specialty materials for sodium systems.
- Build, develop and lead a high-performing sourcing team focused on competitive bidding, cost modeling, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Drive supply chain risk mitigation, including geopolitical, single-source, capacity, and quality risks with clear contingency plans.
- Partner with engineering, project delivery, quality teams and other internal stakeholders to align design-for-manufacturability with supply chain capabilities.
- Negotiate strategic agreements and master terms that support both the demo plant and multi-unit commercial rollout.
- Track and report key metrics: cost reduction, on-time delivery, supplier quality performance, and diversity spend goals.
- Lead supply chain risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic risks across the supplier base, geopolitical exposure, single-source dependencies, and capacity constraints.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business or Engineering) required; MBA preferred. Supply Chain certification a plus.
- 15+ years in supply chain, with at least 5 years in nuclear or highly regulated industries (SMR or New Build experience strongly preferred).
- Proven success scaling supply chains for first-of-a-kind energy or industrial projects.
- Deep knowledge of nuclear codes (ASME Section III, NQA-1), export controls, and FAR/DFARS.
- Strong track record negotiating complex, multi-year agreements with heavy industry suppliers.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills including preparing presentations for management to obtain approvals for negotiated agreements.
- Experience preparing and negotiating various type contracts including term and conditions and financials along with the technical requirements.

Salary Range Level 14: $216,695 - $325,042
* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
