TESSCO is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in Hunt Valley, MD responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. This role combines hands-on accounting management with FP&A responsibilities to support strategic planning, improve financial visibility, and drive informed business decisions across the organization. This role will sit in our corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

This is a hybrid role (3 days a week in office) in Hunt Valley, MD - Must be located within commuting distance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members
  • Perform and review reconciliations, perform system processes, and analytical reviews of account balances
  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of most balance sheet and income statement accounts with focus on inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accrued expenses
  • Will be responsible for the preparation of certain accounting areas, such as excess inventory and income taxes (including estimated tax payments and filing management)
  • Support accounting transactions that arise in planning and executing new business opportunities and prepare technical accounting memos as needed
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and ad hoc reporting to private equity owners
  • Research and resolve accounting issues and process breakdowns
  • Work closely with external auditors on both financial and bank audits
  • Manage vendor and customer rebate process
  • Own the sales commission monthly reporting and tracking process
  • Assist in preparing various reports as needed by various business stakeholders
  • Special projects and analysis as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance field      
  • 5+ years of corporate or public accounting experience.
  • Leadership experience preferred with a track record of developing talent
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills strongly preferred
  • Willingness to adopt and implement AI into business processes
  • Strong PC and Systems experience, NetSuite experience a big plus
  • Looking for someone who is detail oriented with an analytical mindset
  • Must strive to achieve continuous improvements
  • Ability to be flexible / handle and embrace change
  • Bring high energy and positive attitude to the team

Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000
