Regional Account Manager – Carrier Sales

Central US Region | Wireless Telecom Infrastructure

Position Overview

Tessco Technologies is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Regional Account Manager to support growth within our Carrier Sales organization across the Central US. This individual will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, driving new business, and expanding existing opportunities within the wireless telecom infrastructure market.

This is a highly customer-facing role focused on Tier 1 carriers, wireless contractors, integrators, and infrastructure partners supporting DAS, Small Cell, Public Safety, Macro, and Enterprise wireless deployments.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong wireless industry knowledge, existing customer relationships, and a passion for building business through in-person engagement and strategic account development.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on revenue, margin, and market expansion.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Tier 1 carriers, wireless contractors, integrators, and infrastructure partners.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across DAS, Public Safety, Small Cell, Macro, and related wireless infrastructure solutions.
  • Expand wallet share within existing accounts through strategic account penetration and relationship development.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, executive business reviews, job site visits, and industry networking activities throughout the territory.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, forecasting cadence, and CRM activity management process.
  • Monitor regional market activity, competitive positioning, and carrier deployment trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade associations.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience within wireless telecom infrastructure, distribution, manufacturing, or related technology markets.
  • Strong working knowledge of DAS, Public Safety / ERRCS, Small Cell, Macro wireless infrastructure, and Fiber/backhaul solutions.
  • Existing relationships with Tier 1 carriers, wireless contractors, integrators, or infrastructure partners strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop new business while growing strategic existing accounts.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable managing a large geographic territory.
  • Experience working within CRM platforms and maintaining accurate pipeline forecasting.
  • Willingness and eagerness to travel extensively throughout the territory, with approximately 50% overnight travel expected.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Sales revenue and gross margin growth within the assigned territory
  • New account acquisition and strategic account penetration
  • Customer retention and relationship development
  • Pipeline growth and forecast accuracy
  • CRM activity management and opportunity discipline
  • Achievement of established sales KPIs and territory objectives

Sales Excellence Expectations

  • Travel to Top 10 strategic accounts a minimum of 4 times annually
  • Execute a minimum of 5 meaningful customer contacts per day
  • Maintain pipeline coverage at 300% of quota for non-run-rate opportunities
  • Generate and actively manage 90 customer quotes per month
  • Maintain high levels of responsiveness, follow-up, and customer engagement

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 base salary plus commission opportunity
