Senior/Principal Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry

Your experience includes…

  • PhD with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. 
  • Excellent knowledge and thorough understanding of SPS and purification of Oligo’s .
  • Leading design of oligos based on structure guided approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of oligo modification strategy.
  • Expert in operating instruments and equipment including HPLC, LC-MS, UV/Vis, MerMade, Dr. Oligo, AKTA Oligo Pilot Synthesizers.
  • Data analysis and decision making to make recommendations/presentations to senior leadership.
  • Prior experience leading direct reports – people/team management experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a dynamic team and/or independently under aggressive timeliness are required.

  • Driving innovation in oligo synthesis including design, synthesis and characterization of novel oligonucleotide structures to improve potency and efficacy.  
  • Cross functional collaboration with research, translational biology, CMC and other groups.
  • Managing and mentoring junior scientific staff and leading associates in a cross-functional environment. 

About you: 
You are a tenured scientist with experience working on oligonucleotide therapeutics in the biotechnology industry. You have managed direct reports in the past and enjoy being a people manager in the lab. You are interested in Oligonucleotide synthesis and design optimization to enable discovery programs. You have experience with small to mid-scale synthesizers and purification, analytical characterization of chemically synthesized oligonucleotides and optimization of the oligonucleotide platform.
