Your experience includes… 

  • PhD + 0-2 years or MS + 5 years of industry experience in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline e.g., biochemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical science. Post-doc experience a plus.  
  • In-depth scientific knowledge and hands on technical expertise on LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and chromatography methodologies and instrumentation. 
  • Experience in LC-MS based proteomics is required. 
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in proteomics sample preparation techniques such as immuno-protein/peptide enrichment and fractionation.  
  • Extensive experience in protein isolation and purification from in vivo samples, such as biofluid and tissues.  
  • Experience in targeted protein quantification with triple quadrupole instrument is a plus. 
  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment and conduct multiple laboratory and project tasks efficiently. 

You are interested in… 

  • Developing LC-MS methods for characterization and quantitation of proteins in various biological matrices including biofluids, tissues, cells, and subcellular fractions. 
  • Design and execute proteomics experiments from sample preparation, LC-MS/MS operation to data analysis & interpretation. 
  • Establish, optimize, and maintain the workflow of proteomics studies. 
  • Discover and validate potential biomarkers for supporting preclinical and clinical programs. 
  • Write proteomic reports and contribute to regulatory documents for IND/CTA filings. 
  • Providing maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting of high-resolution mass spectrometer and UPLC systems. 

About you: 

You are a scientist who is interested in developing and employing LC-MS methods to characterize and quantitate oligonucleotides. Your background may combine RNA therapeutics with biochemistry methods, LC-MS and proteomics or large molecule bioanalyses. You may also have experience in method qualification and bioanalyses to support pre-clinical studies from experience working with small molecule LC-MS and bioanalyses for small molecule drugs. You have excellent communication skills and can work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment to support research, non-clinical and clinical development programs for various therapeutic indications.

Jicheng Duan is a highly motivated scientist with deep expertise in LC-MS-based proteomic and bioanalytical development across diverse therapeutic areas, from early discovery to clinical development. At Tessera Therapeutics, he leads a team dedicated to advancing LC-MS-based proteomics and RNA bioanalysis to support preclinical studies for Gene Writing and Rewriting Therapeutics. Jicheng holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and has worked with prominent institutions and biopharmaceutical companies, including the University of California, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bioverativ, and Sanofi. His work continues to drive innovation in therapeutic research and biotechnology.

Narissa joined the Biotechnology industry shortly after graduating with her BS in Marketing from Franklin Pierce University. She is currently pursuing a MS in Legal Studies from Northeastern University School of Law while working full time as a Manager in Talent Acquisition at Tessera. She is passionate about helping individuals find a fulfilling opportunity while considering their interests, aspirations and technical skills. Narissa lives in Northern Vermont and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, three-year-old daughter and German Shepherd.
