Your experience includes…
- PhD. in Computational Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 2+ years of industry experience applying computational or machine learning methods to model and engineer molecules
- Strong foundation in computational biophysics and structure-based protein design.
- Fluency in one or more programming languages, especially Python.
- Experience in machine learning, especially in applying deep neural network models of protein evolution, structure, or function.
You are interested in…
- Developing and applying molecular modeling and design strategies to advance Tessera's Gene Writing platform.
- Collaborating closely with experimental scientists to realize molecular designs, collect and analyze data, and build mechanistic intuition and biochemical understanding.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside ML scientist and engineers to devise, train, refine, and deploy deep neural network models using public and proprietary sequence, structure, and function data.
- Presenting scientific findings to broad audiences including senior leadership to drive decision making in program teams.
- It’s a bonus if you have experience in modeling enzymes that interact with nucleic acids

You bring a strong foundation in computational biophysics and structure-based protein design, and you're eager to apply computational modeling and design methods to support the discovery and engineering of novel gene editing technologies. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with both computational and bench scientists to develop and apply protein engineering strategies powered by machine learning and physics-based methods. You are eager to contribute your scientific and technical expertise across a multidisciplinary team—emphasizing conceptualization, experimentation, data analysis, presentation, and strategic planning.
