Job Title: BAS/Controls Technician

Reports to: Director of BAS

Job Description:

Building Automation Systems Technicians work as part of a team to install, start-up, repair, and maintain computer-based systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and energy management systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· You have expertise in the BAS (Building Automation Systems) field and possess the ability to load system-level controller software. Additionally, you can carry out basic commissioning and system diagnostics, from system-level controllers to end devices such as sensors, actuators, etc. You are also able to complete all the necessary commissioning documentation and calibrate systems that require basic electronic test equipment.

· You prioritize consistent communication with management, contractors, and customers regarding job progress, including arrival, completion, and issues, to build lasting relationships.

· You will have no issue completing administrative tasks, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

· You understand the importance of following all safety standards and attending required safety training. You have a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

Job Requirements:

· Vocational School four-year program or an associate’s degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience or 2 years’ experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.

· Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.

· Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Texas Chiller Systems to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

· Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.

· PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.

· Niagara N4 Certification

· Experience with Tridium Niagara framework

· Experience with Distech and Honeywell control lines
