Controller
About Us
Greenbrook Medical is building the new standard in primary care.
We deliver high-touch, relationship-based care through neighborhood clinics, grounded in a simple belief: every senior deserves the kind of care we would want for our own families. Our model prioritizes time with patients, strong care coordination, and a personalized approach that improves outcomes while lowering total cost of care.
We take full accountability for patient outcomes and overall cost of care, aligning clinical excellence with disciplined execution. That commitment shows up in our results, including a patient Net Promoter Score of 91, compared to 32 for typical healthcare organizations.
Rooted in Tampa Bay and partnered with Tampa General Hospital, we are entering an exciting phase of growth. Backed by strong unit economics, experienced operators, and a proven playbook, we are looking for builders and operators who want to help scale a healthcare platform designed to deliver better care, better coordination, and better outcomes for seniors.
About the Role
As our Controller, you will build the financial foundation that enables Greenbrook Medical to scale.
This is not a traditional accounting role focused only on closing the books. You will own the systems, processes, and controls that allow a fast-growing, multi-clinic healthcare organization to operate with confidence and discipline.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will lead core accounting operations, strengthen financial infrastructure, and partner across the organization to turn financial data into better decisions. You will bring order to complexity, improve how we operate, and build the systems needed to support our next stage of growth.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being a hands-on builder: someone who can dive into the details, create scalable processes, and elevate a finance function from good to great.
Location: New York City strongly preferred (Hybrid). Open to remote candidates in FL, VA, NY, NJ MO or TX.
What You’ll Do

You will create the operational backbone that keeps Greenbrook financially strong.
- Own the monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Maintain financial statement accuracy, reconciliations, and reporting integrity.
- Build scalable accounting processes, controls, and workflows as the organization grows.
- Manage external accounting partners and improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.

- Build and manage spend controls, including budgeting, vendor management, credit card policies, and expense processes.
- Partner with leaders on headcount planning, hiring plans, and financial accountability.
- Improve visibility into where resources are being invested and the return those investments create.
Own Critical Financial Operations
You will ensure key operational processes run smoothly and accurately.
- Oversee bookkeeping, payroll, benefits administration, tax workflows, and insurance administration through external partners.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Serve as a key operational partner across Finance, People, Operations, and clinical teams.
Support Value-Based Care Financial Operations
You will help ensure our complex healthcare payment models operate accurately and efficiently.
- Manage operational processes related to risk contracts, including contestations, cost reallocations, stop-loss tracking, and reserve fund reconciliation.
- Build reporting and dashboards to monitor financial exposure, recoveries, and payer performance.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and clinical teams to ensure financial data integrity.
Drive FP&A and Business Insights
You will help leadership understand performance and make better decisions.
- Build and maintain annual budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with the VP of Finance and CEO.
- Own budget versus actual reporting, variance analysis, and business insights.

- Translate financial data into clear recommendations for leadership.
What Success Looks Like

About You
You bring:
- 8-12 years of accounting and financial operations experience across corporate or multi-entity environments.

- Experience building processes, systems, and controls in environments where things are evolving quickly.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance precision with speed.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across the organization.
You’ll stand out if you:
- Have experience in healthcare, value-based care, managed care, or MSO-PC environments.
- Have worked in a startup or high-growth company where you built finance infrastructure from the ground up.
- Have experience managing multi-entity accounting complexity.
- Have supported risk-bearing contracts, capitation models, or healthcare financial operations.
- Enjoy operating as a hands-on builder who can both solve today's problems and design tomorrow's systems.
